ADHD Evaluation for Children and Teens (Ages 8–17) in NJ & NY

Struggling in school, trouble focusing, or difficulty at home? How we evaluate and treat ADHD and related conditions in children and teens in New Jersey and New York.

When a child or teen struggles to focus, follow instructions, or keep up at school, parents often wonder whether it’s ADHD. Psychnic provides psychiatric evaluation and medication management for children (8–12) and teens (13–17) in New Jersey and New York.

Signs parents often notice

  • Trouble paying attention in class or finishing homework
  • Being easily distracted or forgetful
  • Difficulty staying organized
  • Falling grades or frequent notes from teachers
  • Frustration, low confidence, or conflict at home

How the evaluation works

A parent or guardian attends the one-hour initial evaluation with the child or teen. We listen to both of you, review school and developmental history, and look at the full picture, including anxiety, depression, and autism, which can overlap with ADHD.

Treatment and follow-up

If treatment is right for your child, we create an individualized medication plan and follow up in 15–30 minute visits to check progress, side effects, and how things are going at school and at home.
